Primary French Immersion Orientation

Thursday, February 9th – meeting in Library from 6:30 – 7:30 pm.

This meeting is designed to give a brief overview of the Early French Immersion Program .

Literacy Week

January 30th to  February 3rd, 2012

We have a variety of school-wide activities planned throughout the week to put a special focus on reading and writing. 

This year’s theme is Poetry.

STOP, DROP AND READ:   Students and staff everywhere will grab their favorite book and settle in for 15 minutes of uninterrupted reading!  

Stop, Drop and Listen:  During these times, a winter poem will be read over the announcements for all students to enjoy.  

Bookmark Design Contest:   Each grade level will have a contest winner whose bookmark will be printed and distributed to each student in their grade level. 

“I      WINTER” Contests: Drawing and response activities for lower elementary and response and poetry writing activities for upper elementary. 

Where in the World have you Read?  Students mark locations on a map by the office.

Skate Exchange

                  

         Saturday Jan 28th:  

Time: 10 - 12

              Place: School Gym

 

We will be collecting skates the week prior to the exchange.
